Deena doesn't fear the mainstream either

This week we welcome a new contributor to the blog, our good friend Deena. We've attended some memorable concerts together, including Dresden Dolls, Panic at the Disco, and a surprisingly cool Fountains of Wayne show last year. Deena's favorite band is Garbage, and I am immensely envious that she got to meet Shirley Manson and Butch Vig during their Beautifulgarbage tour. Look, she has proof!

Her musical preferences are heavily influenced by what she heard growing up in the '80s and '90s, and her taste ranges from indie, emo, and ska to new wave, hip hop and dance.

Here, enjoy some of Deena's current favorites, and stay tuned for more posts from your dueling correspondents...
